Compressed Air Foam Systems (CAFS)
CAFS Compressed Air Foam Fire System stands for CAFS Compressed Air Foam Fire Suppression System CAFS10 CAFS30 CAFS60 CAFS100, CAFS200 and is a system for the production of high-quality CAF (Compressed Air Foam), which is used to fight solid and liquid fires.
In the production of CAFS, the same three components are required (water, foam compound and air) as in the generation of conventional fire fighting foam. The crucial difference lies in the foam expansion of the water-foam compound mixture, which in the CAFS system does not take place passively through the injector principle on the nozzle, but rather actively in a mixing chamber in the system by means of compressed air.
Sometimes, When catch fire, fire extinguisher is not enough to kill the fire, but the fire fighter need 10~15 mins arrive.Before the fire fighter arrival, self-save is very importmant. Why are CAFS Effective?
CAFS truly attacks all sides of the fire tetrahedron by smothering the fire with a "foam blanket", thus preventing oxygen from combining with fuel. It diminishes the heat by insulating (using the trapped air within the bubble structure) and the bubbles actually reflect radiant heat, thus preventing excess heat from adding to the fire. This prevents additional fuel from reacting with the fire by providing a barrier. Finally, CAFS has been shown to disrupt the chemical reaction required for fire to continue. CAFS is 15 to 30 times more effective than water alone.
