Product Description

HFC-227ea Total Flooding System is a sophisticated, fast-acting, and clean fire suppression solution engineered for one purpose: to stop a fire instantly in a critical environment without causing the collateral damage that would defeat the purpose of protecting the asset in the first place.

We need it because in our modern, technology-dependent world, the value of the data and equipment, and the cost of downtime, far exceed the cost of installing and maintaining such a specialized protection system. It is the insurance policy that allows you to recover from a fire event, not just survive it.

It is a fixed, engineered fire suppression system designed to rapidly detect and extinguish fires in enclosed, mission-critical spaces by flooding the entire protected volume with HFC-227ea gas (chemical name: heptafluoropropane, commonly known by its brand name FM-200™).

How it works

How Does the FM-200 (HFC-227ea) Total Flooding Fire System Work?

1. Detection: The system's smoke detectors sense a fire in its incipient stage.

2. Alarm & Delay: The control panel activates audible/visual pre-discharge alarms inside and outside the room. A typical 30-second delay begins to allow for evacuation and manual intervention.

3. Discharge: At the end of the delay, the system electrically activates the cylinder valves. The HFC-227ea is propelled through the pipe network and discharged from the nozzles as a vapor.

4. Extinguishment: The agent floods the room, achieving the design concentration (usually 7-9%) within 10 seconds or less, rapidly suppressing the fire.

5. Safety: After discharge, the agent is safe for people to breathe at typical exposure levels (it has a high NOAEL - No Observed Adverse Effect Level) and simply ventilates away, leaving no damage to sensitive equipment.

In Summary:

An FM-200 total flooding fire system works by detecting a fire early and rapidly releasing a clean gaseous agent into an enclosed space, extinguishing the fire before it can grow or spread—all without damaging equipment.
